Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, 21, died at Skeleton Bridge; six people have been arrested.
247 – A 21-year-old woman, Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, died while attempting a rope jump without a safety rope at the Ponte do Esqueleto (Skeleton Bridge) trail in Limeira, in the interior of São Paulo. The information was reported by G1 on Saturday (13).

According to the Military Police, a witness stated that employees of the company responsible for the activity forgot to equip her with the necessary safety gear before the jump. Images show men wearing T-shirts bearing the logos of the companies “Entre Cordas” and “E Voo.” The media outlet was unable to reach representatives of either company for comment.
Emergency responders and security forces were immediately deployed to the scene. The Fire Department and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) were called, but Maria Eduarda was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Military Police, two individuals fled the area after the accident. They were later located in a wooded area with the assistance of the Águia helicopter unit. In total, six people have been arrested.

The case has been forwarded to the 2nd Police District of Limeira, where investigators will examine the circumstances surrounding the death. The investigation aims to determine who was responsible for the activity and what safety procedures were followed before the jump.
Young Woman Shared a Photo Before the Activity
Before the accident, Maria Eduarda posted a photo on social media from the location where she was preparing to jump. The post, made at 7:31 a.m., featured a banner from the company “Entre Cordas.”
Alongside the image, she wrote:
“Who was the crazy person that let me jump off a bridge???”
Maria Eduarda was a resident of Jandira, in the Greater São Paulo area. Her Instagram profile featured photos of outdoor activities and nature-related adventures. Her bio mentioned her degree in Physical Education and Sports Management, as well as her support for Santos Football Club.
