The Iloilo City Government will conduct an investigation after a video showing the two students engaging in inappropriate conduct circulated online. The incident quickly gained attention on social media, prompting local authorities to take action.
City officials said they are looking into the matter and are also focusing on finding ways to prevent similar incidents from occurring in public areas.
Engineer Neil Ravena, head of the General Services Office (GSO), explained that although Esplanade 11 has not yet been officially turned over to the Iloilo City Government by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 6, the city has already begun taking steps to improve security in the area.
According to Ravena, city officials do not want the incident to happen again and are working closely with various departments to strengthen surveillance and public safety along the Esplanade.

He also said that he has coordinated with the Public Order and Safety Management Office (POSMO), led by retired Colonel Uldarico Garbanzos, to discuss ways to enhance security while the area remains in a transitional phase.
In addition to coordinating with city authorities, the GSO also plans to work with the barangay to explore the possible deployment of barangay tanods (community watchmen). Their presence is expected to improve monitoring and discourage inappropriate activities in the area.
Officials believe that assigning more personnel to the Esplanade will help maintain order and provide a safer environment for residents and visitors who use the public space for walking, exercise, and recreation.

Once Esplanade 11 is officially turned over to the city government, regular environmental wardens are expected to be deployed in the area. These personnel will be responsible for helping maintain security, cleanliness, and the overall well-being of the public.
In a separate but similar incident, two eighth-grade students were reportedly caught in a private intimate situation inside a cemetery.
