A politician from Mandsaur district in Madhya Pradesh has landed in trouble after CCTV footage captured him engaging in obscene behavior with a woman. The explicit footage, which has been widely circulated on social media, has triggered public outrage and compelled the police to take swift action.
Manoharlal Dhakad, the husband of a BJP-backed local leader, has gone missing following the release of the video and the filing of a First Information Report (FIR).

The incident occurred on May 13 on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway — a high-security, eight-lane corridor equipped with surveillance cameras, which recorded the entire incident. In the video, the politician, identified as Manoharlal Dhakad, can be seen engaging in sexual activity with a woman in the middle of the expressway, in full public view.
According to Madhya Pradesh Police, the car seen in the footage — a white vehicle — is registered in Dhakad’s name.
Following the release of the footage, police filed an FIR against Dhakad and a co-accused under Sections 296, 285, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Since the footage went viral online, Dhakad has reportedly been untraceable. Authorities have launched a search operation, and a detailed investigation is underway.
The controversy intensified after Dhakad’s political connections came to light. His wife, Sohan Bai, is the elected Sarpanch (village head) and a district panchayat member from Ward 8 of Bani village in Mandsaur. However, the BJP has attempted to distance itself from the scandal.
“Manoharlal Dhakad is a resident of Bani village but is not a primary member of the BJP. His wife holds a Panchayat position, but the party has no formal association with him,” clarified Rajesh Dixit, BJP’s Mandsaur district president.

Meanwhile, Dhakad has been removed from his position as National Minister of the Dhakad Mahasabha Youth Union. The organization’s national president, Arjun Dhakad, confirmed the dismissal and said it was necessary to protect the dignity and credibility of the organization.
In response to the video, Ratlam Range DIG Manoj Singh condemned the incident, calling it “completely unacceptable and deplorable.”
“Such behavior on a public road violates both legal and social norms. Public spaces are meant to be safe and respectable for all citizens,” he stated.
