Married mother Linda De Sousa Abreu was filmed in 2024 inside a cell at HMP Wandsworth prison in southwest London, in an inappropriate situation with inmate Linton Weirich. She has now spoken publicly about the incident for the first time.
The former female prison officer has explained what exactly happened in the inmate’s cell, saying she feels “extremely ashamed” and regrets “everything she did.”
The 32-year-old Abreu claimed that staffing levels at HMP Wandsworth were “very low” and the prison was “difficult to manage” at the time of the incident. Inmate Weirich alleged that she was among officers who smuggled items like food, drugs, and phones into the prison.
Although Abreu denied bringing food for Weirich and his friends, she admitted: “Everyone is doing something. I regret what I did. I am deeply ashamed.”
Weirich, who was serving a four-year, nine-month sentence for theft, claimed that he connected with Abreu on Snapchat before their recorded meeting in 2024 and that they had been involved multiple times.

Abreu again stated that the prison was understaffed and hard to manage. She told The Sun: “Listen, the police had my phone for over a year.”
“I was found guilty of everything I was accused of, which was having an inappropriate relationship with Linton. That was my fault, and that’s why I was convicted. That’s as far as it went.”
“I had a relationship with someone I should not have, but I did nothing beyond that.”
The viral footage from B-Wing was reportedly recorded by another inmate known as “Sharky,” who can be heard saying: “This is how we live in Wandsworth. Gangsters online.”
Abreu, originally from Brazil, resigned after the video was leaked. She pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office on July 29, 2024, and was sentenced to 15 months in prison on January 6 of the following year.
After serving five months at HMP Bronzefield in Surrey, she was released on a tagged condition. Speaking about her life after prison, she said: “I’m living a simple life. I just want to move forward and be a good mother to my child.”

Weirich, now 38, who has been imprisoned four times since 2003, said that “the system has changed,” with prison discipline declining while staff corruption has increased.
He said: “Many staff are corrupt and earn more by bringing things in from outside than from their salaries.”
The personal trainer described the conditions as “inhumane,” claiming inmates were locked in their cells for up to 23 hours a day.
He added: “In that situation, any kind of attention is welcome, and Linda gave me that. She used to bring food like Nando’s and Chinese meals for inmates.”

At the time, Weirich’s partner, 32-year-old Emilia Jukes, was pregnant with their son, who is now 19 months old. She gave birth in September 2024. A few weeks later, while holding her baby in a visitation room, she was attacked by another inmate.
She said: “When I woke up, my partner told me someone had hit me. This is 100% connected to the Wandsworth video—either someone told them to do it, or it happened because I was in the spotlight.”
