The mayor of Manaure in La Guajira has reported that his social media accounts were hacked and inappropriate content was uploaded.
The Mayor’s Office of Manaure issued a statement to clarify the situation; however, despite the explanation, the explicit materials remained on the official’s social media accounts.
Several posts containing explicit content were spread from the personal social media accounts of Manaure’s mayor, John Galvi Pimiento Jusayu.

On his Instagram profile’s story section, a 39-second video containing explicit sexual scenes was seen, apparently featuring a citizen from a nearby municipality.
The woman was given an obscene pseudonym, and it appears that publishing the video on the municipality’s social media platforms was part of a strategy to expose her.
The audiovisual material includes an audio recording with an artificial voice, describing a series of attacks against the woman, allegedly linked to prior threats made due to supposed infidelity, along with specific details about her.

The comments were directed at a woman named Catherine Paola Torres Barros: “She (…) thinks she is a saint (…) did you think you could play with me? I told you, when you cheated on me, I would expose you publicly, because I am not a fool. Besides, she is using this young entrepreneur from Uribia named Helio Merino. What a disgusting person, who left his family for a criminal woman.” — This portion of the video script contained highly offensive remarks against the woman, which have been partially omitted here.
The publication of the explicit content sparked controversy, especially among social media users in the La Guajira municipality. In response, the Mayor’s Office of Manaure released an official statement condemning the possible unauthorized access to the mayor’s accounts.
The municipal administration also confirmed that the published content was not created by the mayor and does not reflect his policies.
In the statement, the incident was described as a possible “malicious” act, and they confirmed that “necessary measures are being taken to regain control of the accounts, along with filing appropriate complaints with the relevant authorities.”
