Penelope, known as the “Museum of Crime” or “the Japanese girl from CV,” was shot in the face with a rifle. According to government sources, more than 120 people were killed in the police raids in Penha and Alemรฃo.
According to police reports, on Tuesday (28), during a mega-operation in the Alemรฃo and Penha complexes in Rio de Janeiro’s northern zone, one of the people killed by security forces was a woman who was considered one of the top fighters of the Comando Vermelho (CV) criminal faction.
Penelope, known by her nicknames “Japinha do CV” and “Museum of Crime,” was shot in the face with a rifle. A photo of the deceased criminal quickly spread on social media.
Local leaders reportedly considered the drug trafficker to be a trusted figure. Police said she was responsible for maintaining escape routes and protecting key drug-selling points.
During the confrontation, she wore camouflage clothing and a tactical vest with slots for rifle magazines.

After hours of intense gunfire, her body was found near one of the main entrances to the community.
According to information obtained by G1, Penelope resisted the police operation and fired at officers, who then shot and killed her.
The Deadliest Operation in History
Penelope’s death occurred during what is now recorded as the largest and deadliest police operation in Rio’s history. The operation brought together around 2,500 agents from the Civil Police, Military Police, and Special Units. Its main objective was to stop the territorial expansion of the Comando Vermelho (Red Command) and dismantle its logistical bases.
According to the Rio de Janeiro government, more than 120 people were killed, including four police officers. On Wednesday (29), residents of the Penha area reported removing dozens of bodies from a wooded area and bringing them to a square early in the morning.
